Spooky Reflection Lanterns

There is nothing I enjoy more than creating fun tabletop decor for holidays and special occasions. I was asked to create a Halloween-themed table for the Alta City Tennis Finals in Atlanta. It was so much fun and super-easy to pull together. My favorite part to create was the Spooky Reflection Lanterns.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

SPOOKY REFLECTION LANTERNS
Print several scary black & white pics.

Spray a lantern (or photo frame) with Looking Glass spray,
then wipe the middle to make it clear again.

Tape the scary pics inside the lantern (or photo frame).

The end result is a spooky reflection.

A SPOOKY TABLESCAPE

Pre-lit tree from target; ghosts made from ping pong balls covered in old sheet material.

The trick to making your table glow? Battery operated wire lights.
I wove them in pillow stuffing & added some fun spiders.

Use flat black spray paint to "deaden" lime green Dahlias.
Affix a spider in the center with hot glue.

Happy Halloween from Dumb and Dumber...and Mary Samsonite!

Since the sequel of one of the funniest movies ever made came out in the fall of 2014, Mardi & Marlin decided that they wanted to commemorate this momentous occasion by dressing up as the two main characters, Harry & Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Meet Harry & Lloyd
Mock. Ing. Bird. Yeah.

So you're telling me there's a chance...

Oh look, frost!

Samsonite! I was way off!
I knew it started with an S though.

I'd like to eat her liver with some
fava beans and a nice bottle of chianti.

If I know Mary as well as I think I do,
she'll invite us right in for tea and strumpets.

Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?

Look at the fun bags on that hose house.

We belong together til the mountains fall into the sea, til the heavens collide. Or until I get sick of her and need to move on.

DUMB AND DUMBER TO opens 11/14/14!

The Magic is in the Details: Tabletop Decor

Every now & then, I have the pleasure of creating tabletop decor for a birthday party, holiday gathering, etc. This part of my life has been a bit on the busy side lately so I feel like I haven't had much time for my own personal crafts. In fact, Halloween, (one of my favorite holidays), is coming up and I haven't had time to paint one single pumpkin. Boo! That being said, I thought it might be fun to share with you a few of the things that I have created recently. I really believe that the magic is in the details, which can sometimes be lost in a photo. I have not yet mastered the art of photography so maybe I will put that task next on my list of things to accomplish for 2015. A New Year's Resolution perhaps? :) Enjoy!
