Mirror Mirror On The Wall: From Trash to Treasure

A dear friend of mine just built a beautiful dream home. Every room is perfectly decorated so I just love spending time there. (It is kind of like sitting inside an Architectural Digest) Lucky for me, she has a few leftovers from her old house that no longer fit with her new decor. When I went over to pick up her "extra" Christmas tree, she asked if I wanted this gold mirror as well.

I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to put this since I already have 2 gold framed mirrors, which is probably one too many. I walked through my house & found the perfect spot in my bedroom. I had a decorator come over when we first renovated our house & the one thing she said that stuck with me was to concentrate on the overall look in our bedroom and living room. Keeping this in mind and knowing that the gold wouldn't work in my bedroom, I decided to go with a rustic bronze but to keep some of the gold as the background.

I taped craft paper to the mirror then worked in extra painters tape along the edges. I wanted some of the gold to shine through so I added extra painter's tape in random areas to give is a more rustic feel.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT!
P.S. I told you playing with spray-paint was addictive didn't I?
