A Helluva Pawdy Dahlin': Mardi Gras in D.C.

I cannot tell you how much fun we had celebrating Mardi Gras in D.C. As my Louisiana side of the family would say, it was a helluva pawdy dahlin'! Our family friend was the "queen" and we were part of her "court" which meant first class treatment from start to finish. Each day entailed socializing in the Queen's Suite, a little bit of site seeing and a fabulous dinner party complete with the most elaborate decorations, delicious food and a fun band or two. We would arrive in our rooms to go to bed only to find a lovely gift each night, followed the next morning by a welcome message. I could go on & on but I think pictures tell the story even better. Enjoy and I'll post again after we celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans....if I make it out alive ;)

THE DRESSES

With my cute husband

I was a little shy about asking someone to take a picture of just me, hence the self-portrait in the mirror

I obviously got over that sentiment :) The dress I dyed grey!

With my mother in law in the Queen's Suite

The final evening, showing off my "Angelina slit", ha ha!

THE SITES

Jackie O.

Did you know that the American flag flies at half-staff every day at Arlington in honor of those fallen?

At the Botanical Gardens, I came across a few "fairy gardens". How adorable?!

Since I couldn't take a picture of the art at the art museum, I decided to take a picture of the walkway, which was just as cool.

Inside this beautiful building, a beautiful thing is made...money! Ha ha!

THE PARTIES

Dee & Renee (sister & brother in law)

Papa Butch & Drew (step-dad in law & his son)
note: Butch is wearing a wig since "you are supposed to be unrecognizable at Mardi Gras"
